Some commonly asked questions are listed below.

What is the first thing i should do when i get a problem?

The very first thing you should do is to restart the faulty equipment. If you have a computer problem then shutdown and restart the computer. If you have a printer problem then turn of the printer, count to 10 and switch back on! If this doesn't work then contact us for help.

What is a computer virus?

A computer virus is a program designed to spread itself by first infecting executable files or the system areas of hard and floppy disks and then making copies of itself. Viruses usually operate without the knowledge or desire of the computer user

I turn on the computer but nothing happens?

Check that the power cable is plugged in correctly and the power outlet has power.

Check to see if the fan is running in the back of the computer. If it IS NOT running, replace the Power Supply. If the fan IS RUNNING, check if the POWER LED is coming on. If the POWER LED IS NOT coming on, replace the Power Supply. If it IS ON, remove the cover from the computer and check that all connectors and circuit boards are plugged in tightly. If all above items have been checked, please feel free to contact us now.

My computer has power but the monitor is not on?

Check that all cables are plugged in correctly.

Check that the Monitor has Power and the Light is on. If it does not, get the monitor replaced or repaired. If it does, the display monitor or the video printed circuit board is probably at fault.

What Updates should I allow to run on my computer?

You should always keep your Anti-Virus software of choice (usually Avast (free), Norton's Anti-Virus or McAfee's) up-to-date and your Microsoft Windows operating system up to date (turn on Microsoft Auto update).

Otherwise decline requests to scan or update software you are not familiar with

What is defrag?

A process (run by a defragging program) whereby parts of data files on all segments of a computer hard disk are taken from their fragmented state (with parts of files spread all over the disk), and grouped together in complete-file segments. This makes it quicker for applications to find the files they need and frees up disk space, making the computer run more efficiently.

What is spyware?

Any software that covertly gathers user information through the user's Internet connection without his or her knowledge, usually for advertising purposes. Spyware applications are typically bundled as a hidden component of freeware or shareware programs that can be downloaded from the Internet. Once installed, the spyware monitors user activity on the Internet and transmits that information in the background to someone else.
